Find Physical Therapy Courses in the United States and Canada. If you are interested in healthcare and have a genuine desire to help people, you can elect to enroll in a variety of physical therapy courses; with the prospects of earning a diploma, certificate or degree.

The uniqueness of physical therapy courses is that students will learn how to manually help patients through a variety of movement therapies, electrotherapeutic conveyances, functional training and other physical appliances. In addition, physical therapy courses teach candidates how to treat and manage common conditions like chronic pain (arthritis, back and neck pain, etc.), musculoskeletal conditions (cerebral palsy, fibromyalgia, etc.), sports injuries, and headaches, among several others.

In physical therapy courses, students are taught about anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, chemistry, biology, exercise and functional training, pathology, kinesiology, human growth and development, neuroanatomy, and associated subject matter.

Physical therapist assistants (PTAs) help physical therapists in their daily activities which include assisting patients during rehabilitation. Their patients include accident victims and clients with such conditions as burns, amputations, stroke, vertigo, low back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy. Physical therapist assistants must earn an associate’s degree in physical therapist assisting in order to practice. Currently there are over 250 …
Help answer the question about physical therapy education
Going into physical therapy without a formal education in physics?
I'm going into 3rd year psychology at McGill's Faculty of Science. I'm interested in possibly pursuing a career in physical therapy.

I've completed the following relevant courses:
1. 2 terms of general chem.
2. 2 terms of gen. bio
3. 2 terms of calculus (freshmen level)
4. 1 summer term of physics (i.e. equivalent to half year course). I dropped the second term of physics because summer courses are terribly structured…:P

I'll be taking org chem, another year of bio, and a year of intro physiology. My physio prof was able to waive the physics requirements (because i'm taking it as an elective) but suggested that it may be more difficult to understand the concepts without a foundation in physics.

I understood the first term of physics decently, but am just reading through the material covered in the second half on my own. Basically, I'm reading up on electricity, fields, etc to get an idea (but I'm not motivated enough to do all the math…)

Would this coverage of physics be too superficial to learn introductory physiology and would this be too shaky of a foundation to go into physical therapy?

Is it enough to know the physics concepts — or is my lack of mathematical training in these concepts problematic?
