So I was talking to the this PT and asked her opinion about most PT programs requiring a DPT. Personally I think it's ridiculous since in the past PTs only needed a BS to practice. Some of the best PTs I know only have a BS. The PT I mentioned earlier got really pissed off about my opinion and question on the matter (guess she was one of those people who thinks her shit doesn't stink). Anyway I want to hear what others think, especially practicing PTs. Personally if they remove all the fluff in educational programs these advance degrees may not be necessary. It's not just PT educational programs that bother me it's other thing like counseling programs requiring masters degrees (I'm currently in graduate school for counseling). It just seems like a way to make more money!
